Wait it Out

Mon Dec 14, 2009, 1:51 PM
Greetings to all of those who still bother to visit my page. It's been a long time! I have been adding periodically over the past year but not nearly enough, I would say. I hope to change that as I go into my winter break. I am sure that I have some more photography to add on here and some poetry, especially since I am published again in my school's literary magazine. I guess today I was feeling a bit nostalgic and I was remembering how DA used to be such a big part of my life. Facebook is not satisfying my creative side so I think it's time we get acquainted again. For those of you who are still checking on me, thank you for waiting out this long dry spell. I am going to try my best to get more stuff added on here.

Published!

Mon Dec 8, 2008, 2:53 PM
I am so excited to report that I am now a published photographer and writer. I entered a bunch of stuff in my college's literary magazine and I have 5 poems, a short story, and two photos (front and back cover) published in The Paper Lantern. Decade[nce], Saint, Life's a Bowl of Cherries, Playing Hard to Get, Barbie, and Measure are the written pieces that were published. I'll try and put them all on here if I haven't already put it on DA. I'm very excited and I can't wait to submit something for the spring issue.

18 + 1 = My Age Today

Thu Nov 20, 2008, 6:33 AM
Today, November 20, 2008 I am officially 19 years old. YAY! *throws confetti* It may not be a major milestone but it means I'm a teenager for only one more year which is both good and bad. I've enjoyed being a teenager though. I thought I'd share another one of my favorite songs that kind of reflects my mood but I can't quite seem to find the perfect one at the moment. I hope I'll be able to add one later. I hope today is wonderful for all of you!

Rules and Regulations

Tue Nov 11, 2008, 9:41 AM
Rules and Regulations
By Rufus Wainwright

I will never be as cute as you
According to the board of human relations
I will never fly as high as you
According to the board of public citations

[Chorus]
These are just the rules and regulations
Of the birds and the bees
The earth and the trees
Not to mention the gods, not to mention the gods

All my little life I've wanted to roam
Even if it was just inside my own home
Then one little day I chanced to look back
Saw you sittin' there being a sad culprit

[Chorus]

These are just the rules and regulations
Yeah, these are just the rules and regulations
And I, like everyone; yes I, like everyone
Must follow them

Mouthwash

Sat Sep 13, 2008, 9:34 PM
Mouthwash by Kate Nash
This is my face
Covered in freckles
With the occasional spot
And some veins

This is my body
Covered in skin
And not all of it
You can see

And, this, is my mind
It goes over and over
The same old lines

And, this, is my brain
It's torturous analytical thoughts
Make me go insane

And I use mouthwash
Sometimes I floss
I've got a family
And I drink cups of tea

I've got nostalgic pavements
I've got familiar faces
I've got mixed-up memories
And I've got favourite places

And I'm sitting alone on a Friday night
And I'm sitting alone on a Friday night
And I'm sitting alone on a Friday night
And I hope everything's gonna be alright
And I'm sitting alone on a Friday night
And I hope everything's gonna be alright

This is my face
I've got a thousand opinions
And I've got time and time to explain

And this is my body
And no matter how you try and disable it
Yes I'll still be here

And, this, is my mind
And although you try to infringe
You cannot confine

And, this, is my brain
And even if you try and hold me back
There's nothing that you can gain

'Cause I use mouthwash
Sometimes I floss
I've got a family
And I drink cups of tea

I've got nostalgic pavements
I've got familiar faces
I've got mixed-up memories
And I've got favourite places

I'm sitting alone on a Friday night
And I'm sitting alone on a Friday night
And I'm sitting alone on a Friday night
And I hope everything's gonna be alright
And I'm sitting alone on a Friday night
And I hope everything's gonna be alright
Oh oh oh oh oh oh:
